Bachelorette parties are a rare opportunity to make a friend feel fabulous right before their wedding. Here’s how you can use a bachelorette scavenger hunt to make the bride-to-be feel extra special.

“Something old, something new”

Have a treasure hunt around the traditional wedding rhyme:

“Something old, Something new,

Something borrowed, Something blue,

And a sixpence in her shoe”

You may choose to make a custom 4 or 5 part scavenger hunt in which each clue is themed according to each line. Each clue can lead to a place, item, or gift that is given to the bride-to-be and then the next clue given until the end of the treasure hunt. Many people do not know about the final line to this rhyme so you can give the 5th and final clue as an extra surprise!

Example riddles for this hunt

Something old: Legend has it that this man has stood 90 years on the floor! This was before he stopped ticking.

Answer: A grandfather clock

Something borrowed: Where might you find a pair of shoes you can wear for a short amount of time? You will have to give them back of course!

Answer: Bowling alley

Here is another way you can incorporate this rhyme into a memorable bachelorette party scavenger hunt. Have a photo scavenger hunt where throughout the celebration, guests take photos relating to given prompts or clues. This is a great low-cost scavenger hunt that can be incorporated into any bachelorette party. The bride-to-be then judges the pictures and the best of each category has a winner. In addition to the amazing winning pictures, you will have a whole array of beautiful memories in photograph form as a bachelorette party treasure hunt prize for everyone.

“Queen of the night” bachelorette scavenger hunt

Give your bride-to-be a royal night by allowing her to complete tasks in a bachelorette treasure hunt to find a tiara, sash, and perhaps a royal staff as well. You can do this at home or in a public place so it’s suitable for both the reserved and outgoing bride-to-be.

Here’s an example of how this treasure hunt may play out:

For the first clue: Click your heels together three times and say “There’s no place like home”. When was the last time you wore your ruby slippers?

This clue directs the bride-to-be to her shoe closet where she finds shoe boxes that weren’t there before. She must find the shoebox that contains a sash and her next clue for the treasure hunt.

The second clue: This one’s a lot harder. It might stir up some confusion. If you feel a bit mixed up you can rely on us to get the inside scoop.

With this clue, the bride-to-be is directed to the cutlery drawer where she will find a royal staff and her final clue for the treasure hunt directing her to the tiara.

If you would like to make this bachelorette scavenger hunt more challenging, use longer and more complex clues. You can also create more obstacles for the bachelorette like putting stuffed animals or other random objects in unexpected places to confuse her.

Reality show themed Bachelorette scavenger hunt

This bachelorette party scavenger hunt is based on the popular reality TV show “The Bachelorette”. Give a selection of roses to the bride-to-be to give out during the celebration.

One of the attendees secretly has a gift for the bride-to-be but she has to play complete the bachelorette treasure hunt to try to find out who it is. Depending on the size of the group, the bride-to-be will be given a limited number of roses to give attendees. For smaller groups use the number of people minus one. For example, if you have 7 guests, give the bachelorette 6 stemmed roses. Each guest has a clue about who has the prize include the prize-bearer themselves.

To get a clue, the bachelorette must give a rose to a guest and they will say their clue. She can continue getting clues from the guests as long as she has roses to give. Each clue will bring her one step closer to the end of the bachelorette party treasure hunt. However, if she thinks she knows who the prize-bearer is, she must give the remaining roses she has to the prize-bearer to signal who she chooses. If she only has one rose left, the bachelorette must use this rose to make a guess. She must give the last rose to the person she thinks has the prize.

After “choosing” the prize-bearer, one of two things can happen: If the bachelorette is right, she gets her prize safely! But if she is wrong, she still gets the prize, but she also gets covered with food and/or a drink. This is similar to the tradition of ‘blackening the bride’.

A treasure hunt is a thrilling way to spice up a bachelorette party whether you’re at home or out for a hen night. Make sure to carry a towel for the bride!
